IP3 highlights nuclear energy at FT’s Energy Transition Summit

October 27, 2022/in Company News /by Laura Hermann

Moderated by Nathalie Thomas, Energy Correspondent at the Financial Times, IP3 joined industry leaders to discuss the future of nuclear energy in the context of the energy transition. Joined by Paul Spence of EDF and Elisabeth Rizzotti of newcleo, Rear Admiral Michael Hewitt provided insights on the growing interest in nuclear energy following the invasion of Ukraine.

The discussion explored how various countries hope to use nuclear power to bolster their domestic energy security and how new  nuclear designs can address urgent electricity demands. The panelists shared perspectives on the roles of small and advanced reactor designs.

With the energy sector now facing the dual challenge of maintaining energy security while also accelerating the shift to renewables, the inclusion of nuclear energy in the ninth edition of the Financial Times’ Energy Transition Summit represented continued progress in the sector’s renewal. Tune into a recording of the event.
