Lieutenant General (ret.) Patrick J. O’Reilly, U.S. Army

LTG O’Reilly is one of the foremost US experts and thought leaders in missile defense and cooperative defense architectures for the US Department of Defense as well as internationally in Europe/NATO and the Middle East.

LTG O’Reilly is an expert in defense technologies, aerospace, energy recovery and program management.  He is the Corporate Vice President for Engineering at L3 Technologies and a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, where he engages global government and business leaders to apply strategic technologies to address global energy technology and security issues.  LTG O’Reilly advises several US defense contractors on the development of complex, integrated, systems was the Senior Vice President of Alphabet Energy, a Silicon Valley “start-up” company pioneering energy recovery technologies.

During his 35-year Army career, LTG O’Reilly was the Director of the US Missile Defense Agency and led the research, development, and procurement of power generation systems, combat support vehicles, and missile defense systems.  LTG O’Reilly is on the advisory board of Spark 101, a non‐profit that stimulates students’ interest in careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math.

A West Point graduate where he later was an Associate Professor of Physics, LTG O’Reilly has Masters degrees in Physics, National Security and Strategic Studies, and Management.
